This is one of the most exciting things that I can write about, there is so much to say it is very difficult to know where to start. There is one important fact that needs to be talked about, the one thing that sets Jesus apart from other great teachers, He is not dead but He has risen from the dead. This makes our Christian experience a living one and nothing to do about religion. The Apostle Paul says: in 1 Corinthians 15:14-17 &20 If Christ is not risen, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is also in vain. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up – if in fact the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen,  and if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! But now Christ has risen from the dead.” I am so glad that Jesus rose from the dead and is my Saviour, on the Saturday night of the Australia Day weekend 1954 I accepted the invitation to accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Here I am 66 years later so excited about my ongoing relationship with Jesus- I know that he is alive. As I reflect on this truth there is a song that I used to sing years ago. “He is Lord, He is Lord,  He is risen from the dead and He is Lord, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord”. The significance of Jesus rising from the dead cannot be overstated, listen to what Jesus said to His disciples before He returned to heaven in Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came and spoke to them saying ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on the earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always even to the end of the age, Amen’’’. It is so important to know and understand that satan’s power has been taken away and that Jesus has all authority and power.  Sadly there are many Christians who do not believe this and live their lives worrying what satan might do to them. Although Jesus told his disciples many times that He would die and rise from the dead, they did not believe Him because they wanted Him to free them from Roman occupation. This is why they came to the tomb to anoint His dead body, listen to what the Angel said to them at the tomb in Luke 24:5b Why do you seek the living among the dead?” Today we are faced with the same question, at times we try to seek the Lord in areas in which He does not exist – the way of the world! This is such a challenge because at times the way of the world seems so attractive but it is not where Jesus is found. Jesus said in John 14:19b Because I live, you will live also”.  Today because Jesus is risen and we live with His authority living with Jesus is so good and these days are the best days of my life.
