Transformed: Embracing God’s Way for a Spirit-Led Life

This curriculum is a journey of spiritual formation, designed to move believers from mere religious observance into a life-changing relationship with a sovereign God. Based on the insights of Ian Pike, these lessons focus on the necessity of the “new birth,” the power of spiritual perception, and the absolute requirement of the Holy Spirit’s ability in our daily walk.

Lesson 1: Foundations of Change The Unchangeable God

To help students understand the fundamental conundrum: because God is unchangeable, humanity must undergo a total spiritual transformation to be like Him.

Lesson 2: Hearing God in the Darkest Seasons

To teach students to recognise God’s proactive strengthening and sovereignty during times of deep personal tragedy and loss.

Lesson 3: Obedience in the Silence

To analyse the biblical responses of Mary, the Wise Men, and Zacharias to God’s movement during periods of spiritual darkness and “make-believe” religion.

Lesson 4: The Heart of a Servant

To redefine greatness through the principles of the Love Slave and the four benefits of total submission.

Lesson 5: Operating in Divine Ability

To distinguish between human effort and the supernatural Dunamis ability that God provides when we submit our natural talents to Him.

Lesson 6: The Lens of the Spirit

To teach students to “ascertain by seeing” and to guard their minds against the blinding influences of a self-centred world.

Lesson 7: Perception and Revelation

To distinguish between natural logic and spiritual Perception, moving from seeking the spectacular to hearing the “still, small voice.”

Lesson 8: Foundations of a Blessed Life

To redefine “blessedness” as spiritual prosperity and favour, independent of outward conditions, as outlined in the Beatitudes.

Lesson 9: The Way of the Word

To provide a practical framework for Meditation on Scripture, transforming the Bible from a book of information into a source of relational life.

Lesson 10: Embracing the Power of a Spirit-Filled Life

To explain the necessity of the Holy Spirit’s Dunamis power to overcome the flesh and effectively witness to the world.

Lesson 11: Walking and Maturing in the Spirit

To encourage a “habitual walk” in the Spirit, where the edification of the soul leads to a life led by divine direction.
